Jade’s PDA is voiced by a man named Secundo, who speaks in a language that can only be described as Spanglish. In fact, much of Hyllis' population is made up of a combination of humans and anthropomorphised animals. I don't mean pig with quotation marks, like a person who eats a lot or is kind of a lecher - I mean a very literal pig person that walks around on two hooves and talks. You play as Jade, a young photojournalist living on Hyllis in the year 2435, who also helps manage an orphanage with her pig uncle Peyj. A few years ago, Ubisoft released an HD version of the title on Xbox Live Arcade, and if you've never taken a spin around the mining of planet of Hyllis in a hovercraft, then you're in for a treat. Luckily, it was a critical darling, garnering praise and a cult following among those who actually played it. So is the box art, which highlights the protagonist Jade and her photography skills in the most boring way possible. It didn't help that the game's title, while referencing the work of philosopher Friedrich Nietzsche, is generic and meaningless without proper context. Beyond Good and Evil was a commercial failure when it hit consoles back in the fall of 2003, overshadowed as it was by games like Mario Kart: Double Dash, Max Payne 2, and Ubisoft's own Prince of Persia: Sands of Time.
